Top 8 Must Have Items When Traveling to Disney World with Toddlers

Here are some of our must-haves we recommend when traveling to Disney with kiddos...

We use these every Walrus Carp family trip.

Stroller Essentials:

1.) Stroller: Even though we have 2 little girls, we prefer 2 umbrella strollers over a double stroller. It’s so much easier to maneuver in the crowds at the park, and it’s also convenient when we need to divide and conquer. Plus it’s helpful having them the whole time at the airport until we gate check them. We personally love the Summer Infant 3D Lite Stroller. It’s lightweight, easy to fold up and carry, and reclines if the girls want to relax or rest. The storage space underneath isn’t super big, but if you like to pack lightly like us, it will be perfect.

2.) Rain Cover: Don’t forget to pack the rain cover for the stroller-it will definitely come in handy.

3.) Stroller Fans: These are a must if you are in Disney during the summer months! It really does a great job of keeping the kids cool while in the stroller.

4.) Cable Ties: Just because it happened to us before…cable ties will be able to make 2 independent umbrella strollers into a single double stroller.  The beauty of this is you can do it if your group wants to split up or in our case, someone gets sick and you need to tackle the kiddos solo.  These also can be used to attach anything to park bags or to the strollers.

Backpack Essentials:

5.) Packing Cubes: Not only are these awesome for planning out each kid’s outfits for the trip and keeping it compact, but we also use one in our backpack for the park to store any extra clothes for the day.

6.) Reusable Snack Bags: We all know how much toddlers love their snacks! Even though we get plenty of special treats while we are at the parks, we also like having some goldfish, pretzels, etc. ready to go in the snack bags for times in between. We love the Bumkins snack bags-they hold up well after several washes plus they have adorable Disney themed ones! We always throw some apple sauce pouches into the backpack, too. Oh, and lollipops are perfect for keeping them occupied while getting pushed in the stroller to another part of the park.

7.) Water Cups: We have been using Thermos Funtainers for everyday use for years now. We also love them for the parks-they keep the water nice and cold, slide in easily to the sides of our backpack, and are easy to clean each night back at the hotel.

8.) Glow Sticks: Ok, maybe not a must-have, but certainly something small and easy to pack along with you if you plan on being at the parks at nighttime. It will save you money versus buying them at the park when the kids are young enough to not know any different! The first time we gave them to our girls they were super excited, and it helped give them that last burst of energy they needed to power through the rest of the night.
