Top 5 Ways to Cure Your Post Disney Depression…

How do you deal with the post Disney Trip blues?

We recently came back from our first trip with the girls and honestly…it was one of the best times of our entire lives.  Watching our 3 year old and 1 year old girls in Disney dresses seeing their favorite princesses and characters in person was incredible.

What’s your favorite Disney Memory with your family?

Coming home has to be the hardest part of any Disney Trip.  So here are some helpful tips to cure the Disney blues.

  1. Plan your next trip when you get home or better yet start planning your next trip before you even leave for your first trip.  I know it’s a little crazy but we had serious post Disney depression after our first trip this summer but our last trip we had zero because we knew we would be back in a few months.  Becoming Annual Pass Holders also helps 😉
  2. Have something to look forward to after you get home. This could be a day trip to somewhere you haven’t been, a new restaurant that has similar foods to a place you love in Disney World, a new movie you’ve been dying to see or just any distraction to get you away form thinking about missing your Disney home away from home.
  3. Buy something Disney related you’ve been putting off.  So I’m a huge fan of retail therapy.  It doesn’t mean you go crazy buying a ton of Disney items but maybe that T- Shirt you’ve been looking at online goes on sale and you finally scoop it up.  I prefer to buy vintage or used clothing or items.  Not only are they good for the Earth by up cycling, they also are usually substantially less in cost.  Loungefly back packs I’m looking in your direction! Here are some good online places to find deals on Disney stuffs.
    1. eBay…it’s tried and true and has the most offerings, however, it’s usually the most expensive option.
    2. Mercari – it’s a new comer to the app world.  It’s a marketplace where you can negotiate with sellers whom will ship you their used products.  Make sure to include shipping costs when thinking about a negotiated price.
    3. Good Will or Thrift Shop – there are sooo many deals at thrift shops, especially with toys and clothes.  You can find so many great out of print shirts here from the 90s.  If you’re into throw backs this is the place.  The store local to us has 50% off and $1 day specials.  It’s good to scope out the products a day before and know exactly what and where you want items are in the store.  Hope you’re there before everyone else.  We have gotten Frozen puzzles and shirts for a $1 here.
    4. Offer Up – loads of local pick up deals on this app with a fair amount of sellers looking to ship as well.  Tons of sellers offer free shipping, too, and have an icon to denote it on their listing.  I’ve gotten all 3 Haunted Mansion Hitch Hiking Ghosts plushes from Disneyland with the tags for $10.  They retail for $10 each!
    5. Etsy – the hand made marketplace.  Great for one of a kind screen prints, embroidery and jewelry.  Most of which can be customized for you because they aren’t made in huge batches.
    6. Let Go – this is basically only good for local pickups and if you want to sell some goods this is a great option. People are super unreliable on here so I listed it last.  I usually arrange porch pick up when selling so I don’t get stood up by the many unreliable folks.  When people do show up they always pay even though I’m not there for the transaction.
  4. Cook or Bake a Disney Recipe – There are a ton of sites totally devoted to Disney copycat recipes.  I’ve tried to make the Matterhorn Macaroons unsuccessfully twice and successfully once! Here are some good sites to check out!
  5. Start a Social Media Page – Sometimes the best way to feel supported is by sharing your memories with friends and family.  Sometimes you need a little more Disney specific support.  The internet has groups for every niche.  Join a forum or better yet start a Disney social media page.  Share your photos and interact with other Disney fanatics!  They’ll commiserate in the feelings you’re having and make you remember all the good from your trip.

There you have it…the top 5 ways to cure your post Disney depression.
